PORTUGAL

EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF PORTUGAL

Portugal, a small but mighty country off the westernmost part of Spain that is so unlike the rest of Europe. Travelers come to experience the hilly winelands, remote stretches of beach and coastal villages and castles and towns with architecture across styles and centuries.

We also continue to hear about people visiting and becoming obsessed with buying property to live as an ex-pat so there has to be something to it, right?

There are so many undiscovered corners of Portugal - let one of our Local Tastemakers help you curate the perfect wine-filled and sun-powered trip around this beautiful country.

PROFILE | Teresa's passion for travel began during her university exchange in Vancouver, Canada. In 2018, she took a sabbatical from her tech job and spent a year immersing herself in the vibrant cultures of Southeast Asia. Inspired by the beauty and diversity of the world, she continued her adventures in Australia, exploring its stunning landscapes, fascinating wildlife and welcoming culture. Her journey continued in Paris, where she embraced the art, history, and culinary delights that the city has to offer. It was during her time in Paris that her passion for curating unforgettable experiences grew stronger.

She is now fortunate to call Lisbon, Portugal her home, where she lives with her partner. As a resident of this enchanting city, she loves to immerse herself in its design, music and wellness culture, and dedicate time to enjoy it’s hidden gems and unique charm.

Moreover, Teresa is the owner of a home decoration and wellness brand working with beautiful hotels, cafes, and retreats across Portugal (and Europe), allowing her an inside look at the most up-and-coming places for sophisticated travelers.

Where is your favorite place for a weekend getaway? Comporta! It is a coastal paradise that presents a unique blend of natural beauty, serenity and design. The region's idyllic unspoiled beaches, vast rice fields, exquisite cuisine (ranging from fresh seafood to farm-to-table delicacies) and sustainable boutique hotels make it the perfect place for a long weekend. Comporta is an oasis of unpretentious beauty where you can really embrace the slower pace of life in Portugal.

Best local restaurant in Lisbon? There are so many wonderful options but Taberna do Mar is my go-to when someone comes to visit. It is a small restaurant in the typical Graça district that offers a tasting menu of delicious local dishes and ingredients with a creative twist. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, Ceia (which means supper in Portuguese) is a fine dining restaurant where 14 guests gather around a shared table in a beautiful historical building to savour a carefully curated menu.
