Hotel Li Finistreddi
Hotel Li Finistreddi is fabulous luxe option for those seeking something near the action but not in the action. Perched on a scenic hilltop, the hotel is nestled in a rustic sanctuary overlooking the turquoise water of La Maddalena Archipelago and the rugged Sardinian coastline.
You'll be near the charming town of Cannigione as well as Costa Smeralda, where you can dine, shop and party until you drop. Villa Escargot Luxury
If you're looking for something super chic and off the radar, look no further than Villa Escargot Luxury on Costa Rei beach. This bed and breakfast is situated in an updated villa from the 1970s that has six chicly decorated rooms, each with a private bathroom, a shared indoor lounging space and plentiful space to relax al fresco, including a hot tub, outdoor showers and an outdoor pool that feels like your very own private dipping quarters.
Keep in mind this is a boutique accommodation so they don't have all of the normal luxuries like room service (although they do serve have a private chef prepare breakfast and lunch) and due to it's intimate size, we suggest booking your room early.
Cascioni Eco Retreat
For a heavenly countryside escape, Cascioni Eco Retreat is a fantastic option. Located about ten minutes from the town and beaches of Cannigione, Cascioni is set amidst a 500-acre private natural park with granite mountains, cork oak forests and panoramic views of the Sardinian coast and has a focus on sustainability and eco-tourism.
All 14 rooms are categorized as suites and each has contemporary finishes and its own private terrace. Take a yoga class, embark on a guided hike through the park, participate in olive oil harvesting or enjoy seasonal fare at their open air restaurant or charming bar housed in a restored farmhouse.

Petra Segreta Resort & Spa
Petra Segreta is a hidden gem tucked amidst the rolling hills of San Pantaleo in Sardinia. The hotel's 27 rooms are converted from traditional Sardinian houses with rustic details like stone walls, wooden beams and intimate patios and modern touches like air-conditioned rooms, concierge services and well-designed, elegant rooms.

Albero Capovolto
Another country retreat worth exploring is Albero Capovolto. Conveniently located 15 minutes from Olbia, this seven-room boutique hotel will feel like an intimate home away from home. Guests can enjoys meals of locally-sourced ingredients prepared in the traditional Sardinian style as well as tastings they organize with local wineries and farms. No detail is spared with elegant design touches by the family that runs the hotel.
The hotel has a gorgeous pool and garden and also offers guests themed maps to use a guide when they set off to explore the island, including the owners’ favorite restaurants, activities and excursions. We think this is best suited for couples or families with older kids who want something quiet and peaceful.
Faro Capo Spartivento
For our design and unique stay seekers, Faro Capo Spartivento is the perfect place for your dream holiday. The hotel is situated in lighthouse located on the tip of the south of the island; the lighthouse was built in the 1800s and still functions today although parts of it have been converted to offer guests a 5-star experience and 12 rooms and suites (all with sea views), parquet floors and a restaurant, spa and private beach in a secluded cove.
It is incredibly secluded so this is better for those looking to unwind in nature that don't mind staying somewhere beautiful but remote.
Casa Clàt
For those that want to be based in a more urban setting, Casa Clat is a super cool option that won't break the bank. Located in the heart of Cagliara, Sardinia's vibrant capital city, and conveniently close to Cagliari airport, Casa Clat has 45 modern, stylish rooms and is situated in a renovated historical building.
We love their intimate dining options - La Cantina for bites and a killer wine list, The Garden for al fresco seafood and The Rooftop, which is a reservation-only space for dinner parties both big and small - as well as the option to go to any of the local cafes or restaurants just a stone's throw away from the hotel. The hotel does not have a pool so those seeking a beachy experience can head to nearby Poetto Beach or Spiaggia di Giorgino.

CPH Pevero Hotel
Located in the heart of the Emerald Coast and just two miles from Porto Cervo, CPH Pevero Hotel does hospitality right. The property holds a reserved area on Piccolo Pevero beach where hotel guests can post up on beach chairs under thatched umbrellas and be waited on hand and foot.

Cala Cuncheddi
Cala Cuncheddi is a great option if you're looking for a relaxed retreat off the beaten path that isn't too remote or difficult to get to. Just a short drive (25 mins) from Olbia airport, this 85-bedroom Mediterranean-style hotel is a contemporary oasis is situated in a grove of centuries-old olive trees and myrtle.
The property has its own private beach and guests can set up a seaside massage or be served by the sprawling outdoor swimming pool, which is a sight for sore eyes at sunset with the golden beaches of Sardinia stretches out beyond. We also love their restaurant Zinnibiri, set in the garden where guests sit at long "social-style" tables to enjoy seasonal dishes and a great local wine list.

Honorable Mentions
While we prefer more boutique style stays, honorable mentions go out to some of the bigger hotels that could be good options for young families or those that have brand loyalty - these properties are gorgeous and we pass no judgment if you want to rack up those points!
Hotel Cala di Volpe (Marriott) has a tennis court, an outdoor fitness centre and an Olympic-size saltwater pool (one of the largest in Europe) in addition to spacious rooms and exceptional services.
Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia (Hilton) is a larger property with a variety of room categories from a deluxe room to private villas with your own personal outdoor pool.
7 Pines Resort Sardinia (Hyatt) is studded with palm trees and sweeping beachfront views on the Emerald Coast. It will still feel intimate with less than 70 rooms but guests can choose from three restaurants, 6 bars and all of the resort's amenities like a tennis court, kids club, fitness center and more.
Baglioni Resort Sardinia (Palace Resorts) near the bustling town of San Teodoro is a great middle ground if you want to feel like you're in the Sardinian countryside but also have access to beautiful beaches and the sea.
Forte Village Resort - Il Castello is a 5-star option for a family holiday. As part of the Forte Village Resort complex in Santa Margherita di Pula, guests have direct access to sports training in activities like boxing, fencing and water sports, kids camps, a golf course, amazing spa facilities and more. Il Castello is one of their more intimate properties and has all of the amenities you might need, including a large park with multiple pools, a starred restaurant on the Michelin guide and a hammam-style spa offering treatments and access to a Turkish bath.
