The Best Hotels in Savannah, Georgia

Savannah, Georgia is chock full of charm. It’s steeped in history, Southern charm and a quaint historic district where you can spend the most (if not all) of your time when you visit.

Savannah is home to 22 gorgeous squares and incredibly well-preserved antebellum architecture so you’ll feel like you’ve been transported back to the 1700s as you wander the cobblestone streets.

When it comes to a place to stay, there a lot of options and we’re narrowing down our favorites based on vibe, service, location and overall ambience. Something you can expect from most (if not all) of your stays is that Southern hospitality including gourmet breakfasts and often evening happy hours complete with wine, canapes and the opportunity to mingle with other guests.

Some of our choice stays are boutique, some on the grander scale, but all will give you that Georgian experience you’re looking for.

Perry Lane Hotel

The Perry Lane Hotel is “the” place to stay, according to a plugged-in local our founder met on her road trip through Low Country (read about her trip and find her itinerary here). It offers guests a wonderful mix of old and new with clean, modern rooms and amenities as well as boutique energy with it’s quirky décor, local artwork and daily complimentary cocktail served up by the mixologists at The Wayward bar.

The location is central, the staff is super on top of it and the rooftop bar, Peregrin, has one of the best views of sprawling Savannah.

Perry Lane Hotel is part of The Citrine Compass’s partner portfolio and we are able to get members of our community VIP perks such as complimentary breakfast for two each morning, hotel credit, early check-in, late check-out and room upgrades, subject to availability. Ballastone Inn

The Ballastone Inn is a high end bed & breakfast in the heart of Savannah. With afternoon tea, a charming courtyard and a superb staff, this 16-room inn has all the Victorian vibes you need.

We love the fireplaces in many of the rooms and the fact that it has an elevator for when you want the charm of an older historic building but are a chronic over-packer.

It’s also located around the corner from Telfair Museum and Husk restaurant, two of our most beloved spots in Savannah.

Hotel Bardo (formerly The Mansion on Forsyth Park)

This hotel comes with a caveat - it’s not re-opening until February 2024 - but we’re including it here because we’re excited about the reno. We love the location a bit out of dodge along Forsyth Park and we anticipate the hotel rooms and central spaces will have a chic, art deco style.

They’re also rolling out a curated wine collection, a cooking school and Club Bardo, a social club for locals which will foster a sense of community and give guests a true local feel.
