STAY
Southall Farm & Inn
Franklin, our favorite cozy town outside of the bustling Nashville, is the perfect rustic getaway for those looking for some southern charm. Southall Farm & Inn is set on 325-acres of farmland in the Tennessee countryside and offers 62 guestrooms and suites and 16 adorable cottages. It’s a working farm with a focus on sustainability and guests are able to help in everything from harvesting vegetables to helping maintain the beehives. If spending time out on the land isn’t your thing, guests can enjoy spa treatments, a soak in the outdoor hot tub, an artisanal meal at The Barn, Southall’s farm-to-table restaurant, on-property tastings by local winemakers and cheese mongers and just simply sitting on the property and watching the day go by.
EAT
1799 at the Harpeth Hotel
Fine dining establishment 1799 Kitchen + Cocktails offers a menu comprised of the seasonal favorites from local Tennessee farmers, ranchers and fishermen, often with a southern twist. Each of their booths has thick velvet curtains that close off the table to give diners an intimate experience, so be sure to request one!

Cheekwood Estates
Fall in Tennessee is magical as the summer heat has faded and the winter hasn’t set in; outdoor activities are plentiful. One of our local favorites is Cheekwood Estates, where you can listen to live music on Thursday-Sunday, sample bites from a variety of food trucks and tour the gardens and pumpkin patches.
STAY
Inn of the Turquoise Bear
We love our boutique stays at the Inn of the Turquoise Bear won’t disappoint. Built by 19th century poet Witter Bynner and a former haunt for artistic greats like Georgia O’Keeffe, Robert Frost, and Ansel Adams, this retreat is intimate and nestled in amongst terraced gardens. Its charm has been carefully preserved and maintained since the 1800s with only 9 guest rooms, each outfitted with Southwestern artwork and furnishing, and guests are treated to a gourmet breakfast as well as afternoon tea daily. You’re walking distance to the historic Santa Fe Plaza but will feel miles away at this fantastic retreat.
EAT
Geronimo
Geronimo, an intimate, upscale restaurant in Santa Fe, hits it out of the park with amazing food and stellar service. Serving up New American dishes out of the minimal and elegant “Borrego House”, a mid-1700’s adobe home, Geronimo is a must visit during your stay.
PLAY
An art lover’s paradise, Santa Fe has no shortage of museums and galleries but the unexpected gem is SITE, a contemporary museum that features up and coming artists with a special focus on modern Native American artists.
STAY
The Lafayette Hotel
Our Local CA Tastemaker, Nicole, tells us that The Lafayette Hotel recently underwent a $31M facelift and it’s worth the hype. Remodeled in an eccentric mix of Victorian, Tudor, and Gothic décor, this hotel is a quirky addition to the luxury hotel scene. Chock full of sexy bars and yummy restaurants, as well as a pool club that doesn’t disappoint, this is where we’re posting up for our Southern California long weekend getaway.
EAT
Barbusa
A favorite of Nicole, Barbusa in Little Italy has some of San Diego’s finest handmade pastas and fresh seafood dishes. This place draws in quite the crowd (on weekends especially) so definitely have a reservation secured in advance.
PLAY
Oceanfront Concert @ Beach House
With the fall weather still gorgeous in sunny SoCal, we’re going to see a live show outdoors at Beach House Tequila + Taqueria. They always have a solid line-up of musical artists and who can say no to a tiki bar, fire pit and delicious tacos by the sea?
STAY
Hotel Lilien
Newly renovated and charmingly boutique Hotel Lilien is a perfect fall getaway in the heart of the mountains and forest of the Northern Catskills. This historic Victorian estate has 18 rooms, each thoughtfully decorated with a mix of modern and vintage furnishings, and is set amongst eight acres of land and nature trails. While weather may be a bit cool to sit poolside, you can cozy up next to the fire pits on the rooftop terrace or warm up with a craft cocktail from the hotel’s bar as you play pool or board games in the hotel’s game room.
EAT
Ze Windham Wine Bar
You can find us at Ze Windham Wine Bar where sommelier Cordelia takes patrons on a wine and cheese journey. If you’re visiting the Catskills during the week, reserve a spot for “wine school” on Tuesday evenings to get educated on all things vino.

You’ll find us hiking one of the many trails around Hotel Lilien, such as Kaaterskill Falls, the Roaring Kill Trail or the lengthy Indian Head Wilderness Trail
